“SOMNIA is like a fever dream and the musical material of the film is a marvel of frightening melancholy.” — Le Temps
“The music composed by Goodbye Ivan adds to the dramaturgy of SOMNIA and manages to give the whole thing a dimension that is as powerful as it is poetic.” — MAGMAH
"They appear like a dream, twirling slowly along the steep walls of a basement, carried by the grace and power of organ music. Could it be a dream? One of those dreams that transport us to other worlds with a disjointed sense of time? The solemn music sets the tone, guiding these magnified bodies towards a timeless space. Suddenly, seized by a brutal force, the light roars and an intensity punctuated by a fragile inertia brings these bodies back to the centre of an infinite space. The space becomes the theatre of scenes where a simple and gentle stripping of the nakedness changes and intertwines, which takes us back to a primitive purity, that of humankind. But who are they? Where do they come from? Have they always been present among us, or is their essence merely the fruit of our emotions? They seem so familiar and yet so impossible to grasp. SOMNIA is simply the sum of an immersion without time or defined spaces."
